CLIENTS
A major UK FMCG manufacturer used
our system to get data on the performance of a new formulation
of a personal care product from their consumer panel.
Panel members attended a 30-minute briefing. Over the
next few weeks they used their own mobile phones to
respond to questions on their experience of the product,
and on the contexts in which they used it. These questions
were sent to each panel member at times chosen by the
research team. The panel also called in to report product
performance whenever its performance was below par or
exceptionally good. Panel members reported that the
system had been easy to use and not intrusive. Covert
independent checks on the events reported showed good
reliability for the data gathered using Situational
Research’s method.
Health researchers used our system
to follow up participants who had been given a course
of treatment with a new medicine. The 400 volunteers
were called every day for a week, and then at weekly
intervals for six weeks. The researchers were delighted
with the reliability, effectiveness and efficiency of
our system.
A major food manufacturer has chosen
Situational Research’s system to play a central
role in a three-year project designed to study factors
in appetite for and consumption of their products. Calls
will be made to sample participant’s behaviour
and relevant psychological and contextual variables
related to diet and appetite. The fact that the method
is automated and able to interact with large numbers
of consumers over extended periods makes it ideal for
this kind of work.
